Cross of Sacrifice

The background picture in all this website pages is of the Cross of Sacrifice. I took the picture in Kanchanaburi's Commonwealth War Graves Commission War Cemetery, shortly before one of the most violent stages of my persecution began. The picture was done transformed into a grey one and edited so that the other details cannot be seen. Crosses of Sacrifice can be found in all the cemeteries of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission with more than 50 graves in them. These crosses are tall, carefully proportioned, and made of sand or limestone. Styled as Latin crosses, they stand on an octagonal base with a downward pointing bronze sword attached to its face. The sword and cross embody the military and spiritual nature of the cemetery. Ready to protect my Christian brothers in Israel with my life - their identity have been a focal point of illegal questionings by Israeli agents - I find this cross a source of hope and Faith.
